As owner of 5-Star Performance Solutions, Ron has led his team of consultants in delivering customized training solutions and performance consulting services for more than ten years.  During his leadership 5-Star's services grew to include Leadership Development for first-line, manager and executive levels, OSHA-based Safety Training, New Employee Orientation and training related consulting services. The organization has grown from a small group of three part-time staff to three full-time employees and many highly skilled support consultants.  5-Star now provides customized training for more than 2,000 employees each year. 

His business developments have included pre-hire training for Gateway, training for new production systems with Canon of VA, a 10 month leadership development program for Electronic Systems Incorporated, strategic planning for Cox Elder Day Care Center and pre-employment training for Nextel. Prior to working at 5-Star, Ron was an Army officer, and a trainer/consultant for the Covey Leadership Center. He has also provided facilitation services for community groups, project teams and church groups. 

His recently developed business partnerships were a four year project with Northrop Grumman Newport News in conducting new-hire orientation for all of their hourly, salary, and leased labor employees; Statistical Process Control training for 400 employees of Siemens VDO; leadership development for managers of the Newport News, VA library system; leadership training and executive coaching for Lutheran Family Services of VA; and indoctrination orientation for U.S. Fleet Forces Command. 

Ron has a B.A. from Penn State University in State College, PA. He is the current President of the Southeast VA Chapter of American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) and a member of the National Speaker Association, Society of Human Resource Managers, the American Society of Safety Engineers and Virginia Ship Repair Association. Ron also recently received a nationally recognized certification, Workplace Performance and Learning Professional (CPLP), from ASTD.
