Larry is a Support Consultant of 5-Star Peformance Solutions, and has 25 years of experience in the manufacturing industry. His services have included organizations such as R. R. Donnelley Sons and Company, Brenco Incorporated, Shorewood/International Paper, and Ball Metal Container. As a training and development professional, he has developed and delivered training programs including leadership and supervisory skills, a wide variety of analytical tools, and statistical process control associated with the Deming/Shewhart process improvement model.
He coordinated and directed multi-day seminars and programs providing technical education and training in manufacturing processes for customers and customer representatives. He developed and coordinated individual training and development programs for sales personnel, management trainees, and professional staff.
Larry holds the M.B.A. degree from James Madison University where he was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma. He has completed extensive additional graduate work in history at the University of Virginia where he earned the M.A. degree. He holds the professional certification of Senior Professional in Human Resources from the Human Resources Certification Institute and is an authorized user of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator©. He is a certified trainer and facilitator for a variety of leadership training curricula.
In addition to his professional work as a trainer, Larry has taught industrial safety courses for the Virginia Community College system. He served as a plant safety coordinator leading programs that significantly improved safety performance. He has served on advisory boards for community organizations including sheltered workshops, Boy Scouts, Salvation Army, community information and referral, educational advisory committees for vocational education and community college technical education programs. An active participant in his church Larry has taught Christian Education classes for more than 40 years.
